Air Ion Meter – Ionization Meter – Air Ion Counter
Want to know how to measure ions in the air? Air Ion Meter is the answer. It’s an ion sensor with a digital readout specifically designed to measure the effectiveness of air ion generators in commercial, institutional and residential applications. The meter is designed for ease of use by contractors and building owners to verify actual ion levels.
The handheld Air Ion Meter measures ion density, which is the number of ions per cubic centimeter (ions/cc) of air in a given space. It measures this number separately for positive and negative ions (+ and – ions are usually present simultaneously). This instrument is a true ion density meter, based on a Gerdien Tube (Gerdien Condenser) design, complete with “air-through” design where the internal fan pulls air through the meter at a calibrated rate. The air ion meter measures up to 200 million ions/cc (for comparison, outdoor air typically has 100 to 1000 ions/cc, both + and -). This range is sufficient for almost all indoor environmental and lab use cases. If you will be measuring in very close proximity to the ionizers, you’ll use the 20 million to 200 million ions/cc settings, if you’re in the building checking the concentration in the air, you’ll use the lowest setting..
The air ion sensor is designed for ease-of-use for contractors and building owners to verify actual ion levels present in their air handlers, and within the occupied space of their buildings. Use the ion meter to get a true reading of the volume of ions in the air within your indoor environment.
Accurate and Easy to Use Ionization Meter
The digital readout is a direct reading and special circuitry has been employed to provide high accuracy and to minimize variations in air ion readings. The meter automatically zeros itself at each startup, and every ten minutes during prolonged continuous use to avoid erroneous readings caused by static buildup. The air ion sensor has a rechargeable battery and provides about 6 hours of continuous operation – more than enough to survey even large buildings. The charger plugs into a standard wall outlet.
